  • 2025 Minatare US-385 EA

The Minatare US-385 (US-26/L-62A) Final Environmental Assessment (EA) documents the Nebraska Department of Transportation’s proposal to reconstruct and widen approximately 18.5 miles of roadway from US-26 near Minatare east to Nebraska Link 62A, converting the existing two-lane highway into a four-lane divided facility to improve safety, freight mobility, and regional connectivity. The project includes new paving, lane additions, median treatments, a new bridge, intersection and access improvements, frontage roads, drainage and culvert work, and utility relocations, while largely maintaining the existing corridor to limit impacts. Prepared in accordance with NEPA and approved by the Federal Highway Administration, the EA evaluates environmental resources including wetlands, farmland, wildlife, floodplains, historic properties, and community impacts, incorporates public and agency input, identifies mitigation commitments, and concludes with a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI), allowing the project to advance toward implementation.
