The Ports-to-Plains Alliance is a non-profit, grassroots organization dedicated to advancing a Future Interstate Highway connecting the U.S.–Mexico and Canadian borders. Working across nine states, the Alliance leads multi-state advocacy to develop a modern North American Trade Corridor that strengthens freight mobility, economic competitiveness, and rural connectivity. Through partnerships with communities, businesses, and public agencies, the Alliance promotes infrastructure investment that supports national trade, defense, energy, agriculture, tourism, and long-term regional prosperity.
Energy Powerhouse
The corridor serves states that are national leaders in energy, including 5 of the top 6 U.S. states for Oil Production and 3 of the top 6 for Natural Gas Production.
Renewable Leader
The region is a hub for renewable energy, with corridor states accounting for 5 of the top 10 in U.S. Installed Wind Energy Capacity (42,747 MW in Texas alone) and 9 of the top 12 states for Electricity Generated from Wind.
Agricultural Engine
The corridor supports $34.3 billion in annual agricultural production value within 100 miles of the route and spans states holding a major share of U.S. farmland.
Trade Growth Corridor
Domestic trade among corridor states more than doubles by 2050, growing from $348B to $723B.
