US-Mexico Border Trade Initiative
  • Goal:  Increase US exports of goods/services to manufacturers along the Mexican border and assist more new to export companies to establish sales channels to this market.

  • Challenges:
  • Lack of Commercial Service resources on both sides of border
  • Many small and medium-sized manufacturers are reluctant to export
  • Purchasing decisions may be made in local plant at border, in Mexico City or the US or through a global committee
  • Lack of manufacturers reps on the Mexican side of the border.
