The City of Williston, ND is a leader in both the Theodore Roosevelt Expressway Association and the Ports-to-Plains Alliance.

The Alliance recently joined with TRE and Williston at the Williston Basin Petroleum Conference in Regina, SK, Canada.

The Bakken Oil Formation encompasses some 25,000 square miles in North Dakota, Montana, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. About two-thirds of the acreage is in western North Dakota, where the oil is trapped in a thin layer of dense rock nearly two miles beneath the surface. North Dakota holds up to 4.3 billion barrels of recoverable oil.

Their Rockin’ the Bakken campaign is featured this month.

Williston also publishes an online newsletter called the Williston Wire providing electronic updates on economic and community development activities in the area.
