BUSINESS NETWORKS

A key subset of the Ports-to-Plains coalition network are the businesses of all sizes, and in every sector of productive activity, who will do most of the investing, hiring, innovating and risk-taking upon which the long-term growth and prosperity in the Ports-to-Plains economic region will depend.Business activity, helping investors, communities, businesses and buyers throughout the Corridor find each other, is why our highway matters. This is why the Coalition does well to increase its focus on the specific needs of businesses in the top industry sectors upon which the future of the region depends. Through industry-specific workgroups, Ports-to-Plains offers industry the tools to leverage our 9-state caucus to pursue valuable objectives:
  • Enable business and other opinion leaders to contribute leadership, expertise in priority Corridor sectors (e.g., wind energy), and a stable of industry spokespersons to strengthen Coalition advocacy;
  • Create Coalition activities that enable businesses to leverage the Coalition as a vehicle for their marketing and business development throughout North America, and for appropriate lobbying on sector-related issues; and
  • Raise awareness throughout the Corridor region about the top industries, global opportunities and human and industrial potential of the Ports-to-Plains economic region.

Workgroups are a way for Ports-to-Plains to offer industry leaders a tool to achieve a variety of personal, professional and corporate goals: new ways to market their goods and services; new ways to reach public officials who buy those goods and services or who make policies affecting the marketplace; and new opportunities for individuals to play leadership roles in both their industries and their communities. Help us help you make the most of the Ports-to-Plains Trade Corridor to promote your business, to attract new customers and investors, to draw new talent, tourism and capital to your community.
